மிகப் பழைய ஜப்பானியக் கவிதைத் தொகுதிகளான மன்போசு, கொளிக்கி ஆகியன சங்கத்தொகை நூல்களில் உள்ள அகப்பாடல்களோடும் புறப்பாடல்களோடும் மிக நெருங்கிய இலக்கிய உறவுகளைப் பெற்றுள்ளன.

ஜப்பானிய அறுவடைத் திருவிழாவிற்கும் தமிழகப் பொங்கல் திருநாளுக்குமிடையே மிகுந்த உறவுகள் உள்ளன. “ரோவிசுட்சு’ என்ற ஜப்பானிய அறுவடைத் திருநாளுக்கும் பொங்கலுக்கும் ஏறத்தாழ 17 ஒப்புமைகளை டாக்டர் சுசுமோ ஓனோ சுட்டிக் காட்டினார்.

இவ்விரு விழாக்களும் 3 நாட்கள் தொடர்ந்து நடக்கின்றன. ஜனவரி 14-ஆம் தேதி துவங்கி 3 நாட்கள் நடந்து நிறைவு பெறுகின்றன. ஜப்பானியர்கள் அறுவடைத் திருநாளில் “ஹோங்காரா’ என்று ஒலி எழுப்புவது தமிழர் “பொங்கலோ பொங்கல்’ என்று ஒலி எழுப்புவதை நினைவுபடுத்துகிறது! தமிழில் உள்ள “ப’ ஒலி ஜப்பானில் “ஹ’ ஒலியாக மாறுவதையும், தமிழின் லகர ஒலி ஜப்பானில் ரகர ஒலியாக மாறுவதையும் விளக்கி, பொங்கல் என்பது ஹோங்காரா என்று ஜப்பானிய மொழியில் மாறியதாக டாக்டர் சுசுமோ ஓனோ விளக்கிச் சொல்கிறார்!
